Delete your data
Selfia works without an account: almost everything is on your phone. Here is how to erase it all, in a few steps.
This page is about the Selfia app (Android: fr.belouar.youare; iPhone: Selfia on the App Store), published by Mathis Belouar-Pruvot.
In the app
- If you want to keep your journal, export it first: in the journal, tap "Export the journal".
- If you used AI summaries, open Settings › Artificial intelligence and tap "Delete my AI data". The server immediately forgets your device and its counters.
- Open Settings › Data and privacy.
- Tap "Erase all my data", then confirm with "Erase everything".
Erased from your phone: your favourites, your journal, your settings, your progress, your garden and your answer about spirituality. This is permanent. We cannot recover this data: we never had it.
Erase only part of it
- Your answer about spirituality: Settings › Spirituality › "Erase my answer".
- Statistics: turn off Settings › Data and privacy › "Anonymous statistics". Nothing more is sent.
- AI summaries: turn off "AI summaries and questions". Nothing more is sent.
Uninstalling the app
Uninstalling Selfia erases the data saved on your phone. But it does not erase:
- AI server data: delete it in the app first (step 2 above);
- your phone's backup (iCloud, Google), which depends on your settings;
- your subscription, which continues until you cancel it.
By email
You can no longer open the app, or you want to erase data kept by our providers (subscription, statistics)? Write to belouar.mathis91@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my data".
Tell us what you want to erase and, if you have it, your store order number. We reply within one month at most. We will never ask for the content of your journal.
What may be kept
- Proof of purchase, for as long as the law requires (accounting, disputes).
- Apple's and Google's data for their stores and payments. It follows their own rules: you can manage it from your Apple or Google account.
- Google's advertising data. You can reset or delete the advertising identifier in your phone's settings.
Exact retention periods are in the privacy policy.
What about your subscription?
Erasing your data does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it in your store: see how.
